The Self-Esteem Tag part 2

freedom eso

Hey guys! How are you doing today?

I’m in quite a good mood today because I received an email from the university to say that my place on the masters postgraduate degree has been confirmed! I honestly can’t believe it! I applied a week ago and haven’t mentioned anything to my friends or family in case I wasn’t offered a place. But it’s officially come through now and I have been asked to either accept or decline in the next two weeks! ARGH… big decision to make. I may have to start a pro con list or something… do you have any advice on this at all?

It was also my cousin’s birthday yesterday and as I mentioned in my last post, I was absolutely dreading it because of a rude family member. Safe to say, I could not see straight for the amount of alcohol drunk before going around to their house. My mum and I made strawberry daquiris and kept the prosecco flowing too just so we could bear to be there! But as I’ve mentioned before, I’m guessing everyone has a hated family member or friend that is rude at events like this, am I right? 🙂

Anyway, time to get down to the tag!

My answers continued…

When do you feel most attractive?

Definitely on a date night or night out with my friends when I get super dressed up and throw on a nice pair of heels 🙂

What are you passionate about?

Travelling and helping other people at the same time, so if I can somehow find a job doing both of these things then that would be a dream come true!

I also have a really strong passion for Biology as some as you may know. David Attenborough is amongst celebrities whom I idealise and strive to be more like. I really want to push myself to uncover new scientific discoveries and do anything I can for the community along the way too.

Who is the most supportive figure in your life?

Easily my mum. She has been there from the beginning through thick and thin, and I honestly wouldn’t be where I am today without her. Every time I have felt down about myself she has always done lots of little things to cheer me up 🙂 For me, it’s more about the quality time you spend with a person than the materialistic items. Someone could come along tomorrow and invest one million pounds in a business for me and I would still see my mum as the more supportive person for cheering me on.

What are you most proud of about yourself?

Looking back on the past few years, I am proud of how far I’ve come. Each experience, whether that has been uni or my family life has really allowed me to develop and learn important life lessons. The ups and downs have made me who I am today and I wouldn’t change any of it 🙂

Do you feel good about yourself today?

Yes and no. I feel so happy about getting through the dinner yesterday and being accepted onto the course. However at the same time, the relationship I have with my boyfriend is incredibly rocky right now. We don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things and some of his comments recently have upset me quite a bit, but I guess we’ll see what the future holds!

This tag has actually noticeably improved my mood so thank you so much again for the tag Laura!

Sunshine Blogger Award 002

Screenshot_20170704-001621.jpg

Hello lovely people! How are you doing?

I’m back again with another Sunshine Blogger Award – I’m honestly not quite sure how this keeps happening, but I will say I am incredibly grateful. I was nominated for this award by the brilliant Logan, who is on an amazing once in a lifetime trip across America and posting about his exciting daily adventures. Please go and check out his blog if you haven’t already, he gets up to some really interesting things that I believe everyone should try at some point in their life! After all, life is too short right? 🙂

So without further ado…

My answers:

1.What is the best vacation you have been on?

Okay, this is going to be pretty much the same answer as one in my previous liebster awards, when I mentioned the last time I felt free 🙂 The guy I was in a relationship with at the time took me on holiday to Florida and we stayed in his apartment on the beach. I honestly couldn’t have felt more in love or much happier at that point in my life and I will always treasure it as my favourite holiday ❤

A close second would be the time I went to New Zealand with my mum and Granddad, it was one of the last holidays I spent with him before my granddad passed away and it was so nice. Even though he couldn’t swim in the sea with us when we went swimming with the dolphins, he was always watching and spending as much time with us as he could ❤

2. Have you ever experienced a natural disaster?

This is a good question because as I read this I kept trying to rack my brain to think if I have ever experienced anything that bad. I have felt the odd earthquake either in New Zealand or in England, but they have been around 3 in magnitude – which I understand will sound like nothing to everyone else living in other parts of the world. We did however, actually have some horrific flooding near to where I live last year. There is a main river flowing through an area called Sowerby Bridge, that completely flooded the entire first floor of houses. It became so bad that firefighters had to come out in boats and take people to safety one by one. Thankfully, they’ve improved the flood barriers this year though 🙂

3. What is the most hilarious thing that has happened to you?

Hmm I’m not sure if embarrassing is included in this but I’ll give it a try haha! So a few years ago now, I decided to do my Duke of Edinburgh Award because I really enjoy walking and it also looked like something good to put on my resume. After 15-20 miles of daily walking or so, my team and I had to camp out and hence tried to entertain ourselves at night with truth or dare etc. Somehow I was landed with the dare of making loud sex noises in the middle of an open valley. I had got as far as a few seconds in when I looked up to see the face of my college supervisor stood about 10 metres away from me! I was absolutely mortified! The team and I couldn’t stop laughing for the rest of the expedition haha!

4. Have you ever been robbed (can be online or real life)?

Thankfully I never have, no. *touches wood*

5. What would you do if you saw a lion in your house?

Be completely petrified and run away probably haha! Seriously though,  that might seem like a frequent thing in other parts of the world, but in England I would either think that the tablets I’m taking are having a bad effect on me, or someone has spiked my drink! If the lion was real, that would be AMAZING – but I’d still stay on the other side of a door/window to it until RSPCA came.

…and I’m going to continue the rest of my answers tomorrow night! I’m really busy at the minute so I’ll see you tomorrow 🙂

Sunshine Blogger Award Part 2!

Screenshot_20170623-232022

Hey everyone,

So as I mentioned yesterday I have been nominated by the fantastic Hussein Allam for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Make sure you go check out his blog and my answers to the first half of this award!

My answers continued:

5. If you have millions of dollars what are you going to do with it?!

Jump up and down for joy and probably swim around in it haha 😛 But seriously, the first thing I would do is donate around 20% of it to charities, particularly cancer research and brain tumour research, which are very close to my heart. Then about 60% of it I would invest, and the remaining 20% would be used to buy holidays, new homes, cars, phones etc. for all my close friends and family!

6. Do you smoke?! If so why😄

No, I don’t.

7. What is your background?!

Wow haha! Where does a person even begin with a question like this?! I guess you could say I’m a bit of a science nerd. I’ve just graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences and been working as a Microbiologist until a few months ago when I became unemployed and travelled the world a bit more. I’ve been desperately trying to break the social pressures of been chained to a nine to five job every day and that’s why I initially started this blog – that and so I could keep a diary of my day to day life. After a while, I’ve realised that I genuinely like talking to all of you and so hopefully plan to continue for a while!

P.s. As the name suggests, I absolutely love travelling! I wish I could do it every day and have a bucket list of everything I want to see.

8. Do you like reading novels?! If yes what is your favourite novel?

Yes I love reading novels! It would take me ages to figure out my favourite one but I’ve been reading Paula Hawkins recently, so I would recommend that. Otherwise, Mark Haddon and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time is one that I really enjoyed reading when I was younger.

9. Are you 24 hours online on WordPress site?

No, I’m not on here all the time. I usually come online between 21:00 – 00:00 GMT time to write a post at the end of the day and to talk to you lovely people, or sometimes even earlier if I’m not too busy throughout the day!

My nominees:

Laura

Julie

Sparsha

Pharaoh Maktuk

Mel

Logan

My questions:

  1. What is your biggest regret in life?
  2. Which book has been the most influential on you?
  3. If there was one person, alive or dead you could meet to spend a couple hours with to chat, who would it be and why?
  4. Are you a cat or a dog person?
  5. If you could talk to your younger self, what would you say?
  6. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
  7. What inspires you when blogging?
  8. If you could take 5 items on a desert island with you, what would they be?
  9. At what moment in your life have you felt the happiest?
  10. What genre of music do you enjoy listening to?
  11. What is your biggest secret? ( Don’t worry about sharing anything too personal!)

Sunshine Blogger Award!

Screenshot_20170623-232022.jpg

I’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by the amazing Hussein Allam! His general topics blog shows such an interesting outlook on life and has some really delicious looking Jordanian cuisine on there too 😊 If you haven’t already, please make sure you go and check it out!

Rules

1. Thank blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.

2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.

3. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.

4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

My answers:

1.Which part of the world do you live?

Yorkshire, in England 😊

2. What’s your favourite colour?

Hmm that’s difficult… it depends on whether I’m wearing it or looking at it. I would say white if I’m wearing it and magenta purple or blue if I’m looking at it. To me, white looks really pure and slightly more classy. With regards to the purple, my bedroom is painted purple and the blue makes me feel relaxed – like I’m lying on a beach!

3. What’s your real name?!

Haha this is a tricky one for me to answer. For those of you that have been following my blog, I have recently clarified that my name is not Rose Hunter in this post. The reason for this is that in a few of my posts, I have written about personal things which I wouldn’t want my friends or family to read. If you stay tuned however, I may give out details to a few loyal bloggers if requested! Or I may even connect with you via other means like facebook if you wish 😊

4.What is the best dish of desserts you like mostly?

Ooh this is so tricky for me! I absolutely adore chocolate so I would have to say melt in the middle chocolate pudding or chocolate brownie with chocolate ice cream 😊 Although recently, I have visited France a few times and had some delicious creme brulee, so when I go back back in a month I’m going to be ordering this every night!

That’s all I have time for tonight I’m afraid, but I’ll definitely be back tomorrow with the remainder of my answers for this award. Until then, hope you have a lovely evening!

Goodnight 😊

The Liebster award!

20170530_224224.png

So after the terrible day I had yesterday, I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely lauzies lifestyle ❤ This girl has everything from food, to fashion, to life advice and is super talented. If you haven’t already, make sure you go and check out her blog!

Rules

  1. Thank blogger(s) who nominated you
  2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you
  3. Nominate at least 5 bloggers but no more than 11 who deserve the award
  4. Tell those bloggers you nominated them
  5. Create 11 original questions for the nominees to answer

My answers:

What is your favourite memory/ memories from school?

Hmm, this one is quite hard for me because I didn’t really fit in at school and was bullied quite badly. It wasn’t until university that I had the best year of my life so far, mixing and socialising with all of my friends. I honestly loved meeting people from all different backgrounds and cultures, and spending time with them was so much fun.

When did you last feel free? (No worries, stress, panic etc)

Oh wow, I guess again this would be about 4 years ago when I started university. The guy I was seeing at the time took me on an AMAZING holiday to Florida and showed me all the sights. He even surprised me by taking me up the Empire State building as one of my birthday presents! I just remember standing on his balcony overlooking the beach and wishing that I could be this unbelievably happy and in love for the rest of my life.

Which celebrity has the best hair?

To be honest, I don’t really follow celebrities that much, but if I had to choose it would either be Jennifer Aniston or Blake Lively. When I was younger I would watch Friends all the time and just thought that Jennifer’s hair was so iconic. I’m super jealous of Blake’s hair too, I wish I could have locks as long and as blond as hers!

A designer wardrobe or a 5 star holiday?

5 star holiday hands down.  To me I love trying new things in life and exploring new places. Clothes will eventually go out of fashion, but holidays will last with you for a lifetime.

Argh, so this is really annoying but I’m going to have to continue this post tomorrow. My computer keeps losing my drafts of this post, forcing me to type it up again and again. But, I will get right on it and hopefully bring you guys the rest of this post tomorrow!

Ciao friends and sorry again!

~Rose~
